Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

Our 1st Christmas Tree

We found our tree at Lowes this year! Saving the tree farm for when the boys can really appreciate it! Our perfect tree was leaning all by itself against the shelves outside. Poor thing! We are so glad we found it and brought it home! :)

These boots are made for walkin'

Our Daddy likes to do silly stuff with us all the time. He makes our hair into a mohawk in the bathtub at night, tickles us on the bed, plays hide n seek.....but this one takes the cake! He thought it would be funny the other morning to put us in Mommy's boots! I didn't mind it too much, but Oliver thought it was ridiculous and he wanted them OFF! Thanks for making us laugh Daddy!

Love, Miles

Texas Snow!?

Yes, we did get the boys outside in the snow the other week! It was very exciting. We had a play date that morning and had driven in it! The boys thought that was very cool. Then they napped during the heaviest part of the snowfall! When Patrick got home from work we bundled them up and went outside to see it! Oliver thought it would be cool to put his handprints in the ice on the front steps! Great idea Big O!

Santa's Little Helpers

Turkey Day Fun....a little late!

We had a great time in Canyon Lake for Thanksgiving this year! All of the cousins were able to spend time together! It was great to see them playing and laughing! Cana is such a little helper....she even put the boys in their pjs one night! In true "Kari" tradition, I got extremely sick on Wed. night before Turkey Day. Patrick and I ended up at the ER in New Braunfels at 3am. No fun! Luckily it wasn't the flu or anything more serious, just a 24 hr. case of a really bad stomach bug. Luckily, I was able to enjoy a roll and some mashed potatoes at dinner Thursday night. :) The boys loved their 1st Thanksgiving meal. They ate at the table with all of the adults! They loved the stuffing and sweet potato casserole. The "gobbled" it all up!

We went to the outlet malls, played with Papa's cars and planes in his study, played by the lake and skipped rocks, and went to the best park EVER in New Braunfels....Landa Park!
Thanks for some great memories Mamie & Papa!

Ho, Ho, Ho!

I took the boys to the Galleria last week to meet SANTA! We waited for an hour for him to come out! Luckily some friends and their kids were there with us so we just got a coffee and walked around a bit! The boys were very patient while waiting for the big guy! Once it came time to sit in his lap they were not so happy! Oliver was the most upset....Miles just wasn't sure what to think!
I think that it is very fitting that their first picture with Santa is of them crying! I have to admit that I chose the one with them crying the most! These are some that my friend took.....they turned out better than the ones that I paid for! :) Overall, they were great sports! Maybe next year than can actually tell him what is on their list!

Growing too fast.....

The boys have been changing so much lately! Learning new words, walking everywhere, trying new foods and changing so much physically! Their hair is getting long, new teeth are coming in, and they are getting taller everyday! I took this photo of Miles today! He looks so much like a toddler to me. My how time flies! I can't believe the difference from his baby photos! He doesn't even look like the same kid.

Asleep at the Meal

While the boys were eating there lunch today I suddenly noticed that it was extremely quiet (not normal for our house). I looked over and both of the boys were sound asleep. Oliver was even holding on to his graham cracker. It was priceless and of course I had to grab the camera before it put them to bed. Poor babies...they were pooped from a fun morning playing with their good friend Charlie!

Tracy & Adam's Wedding Shower

We helped host a wedding shower for Tracy & Adam the other weekend in Austin! It was a great time! We watched the UT/KU game, ate yummy mexican food, drank margaritas and spent time with great friends! Of course we enjoyed our quick trip to Austin too! We were able to get in a few of our favorite bites while we were there....Huts Hamburgers and good ol' Shady Grove. We are looking forward to the upcoming wedding in Costa Rica in March 2010!

Don't you love their university logo "Snuggies"....courtesy of KK! She thinks of everything!

Jones or Campbell?

Do you see a resemblance between Oliver and these two men? We were cracking up the other day when we took this photo. Patrick said, "He looks like George Jones back in the day or a young Glenn Campbell"! I must say, Daddy was right on!
By the way, if you haven't noticed, we are boycotting haircuts! The boys have great hair and we want it to just keep growing!

He Did It!

It is official! Miles is walking! He wanted to wait a while (a month to be exact) to follow in his little brother's footsteps! This is just another reminder to us that even though they are twins....they are definitely individuals. Miles just needed a little time to build up his confidence to be able to walk on his own. He has always been our "super speedy" crawler so he probably figured why walk when I can crawl twice as fast?! We are so proud of him and love the fact that we now have two sweet boys walking around the house! Life will never be the same! Way to go Miles!!!!

Just like Dad!

Miles and Oliver were playing in the bathroom the other morning while Patrick was getting dressed for work. Miles decided he wanted to put on Daddy's boxers! He wants to be just like his wonderful Dad!

Play Dates are Fun!

The boys really enjoy having play dates at our house! It is fun to have friends come over! Liam and Nicole came over the other week for a while. When they were leaving Oliver and Liam decided to give each other a big SMOOCH! It was so cute...we had them do it again so I could capture it on camera! Sorry Dads....to funny though! As Nicole and Liam were leaving Jordan and Charlie came over.....it was great!

Funny Boys!

Yesterday after nap time I put Miles in Oliver's crib. They were buys looking out the window at the cars driving by! Oliver decided he would hold on to the side of the crib and "pant" like a puppy dog! Miles thought it was hysterical!!! I did too, so I ran to grab the camera. I love the belly laughs from Miles....there is nothing better than that. Notice how they stop what they are doing when the car drives by....they are all about cars!

I am so thankful that they love each other so much and have so much fun together. It must be so amazing to have a twin brother!!

Miles' smiles

This is Miles' new signature smile! He has been hilarious lately. You tell him to smile and he gives you one of these! Priceless!

Get in our bellies!

Our mommy made us yummy smoothies today! Strawberry and banana....our favorite! We loved them so much we were leaning back against the couch to get every drop!
Thanks Mommy! Love, M & O

We "heart" Alex & Ryan

Alex & Ryan are our neighbors and good friends! They were so sweet to come and stay with the boys this past Saturday night. The boys absolutely LOVE them and they had so much fun playing and reading books before bedtime. Thanks again Alex & Ryan!

Triple Twin Play Date

We had some "twin friends" come over last Friday for a play date! It was hilarious to watch all of the kids play and interact with each other! The two girls are in Miles & Oliver's Gymboree class. They have become quite fond of one another. We are looking forward to another play date with all of our new friends soon.

Sneak Peak

Here are a few more photos that my talented cousin, Rebecca, took of the boys a few weeks ago! I can't show them all b/c some will be used for our Christmas card this year! These are some that make me smile. I love the one of Miles and Patrick! Also, the boys loved playing with the hay at Wabash Antique and Feed Store! The one of Oliver walking next to me just makes me smile.

YUMMY!

Patrick and I had a wonderful dinner at The Grove on Saturday night. We got there a bit early and we able to enjoy a drink at the bar before dinner. We had a great table overlooking Discovery Green! Everything was delicious! We each had yummy salads...I liked Patrick's better than mine. It was arugula, figs, bleu cheese and spiced pecans. You can't go wrong with that! Patrick had the Farm Raised Texas Chicken with Yukon potatoes and herbs. Tasty! I had the 4 oz. Petit Filet with mashed potatoes and broccolini. I loved every bit! Then we ended the meal with Patrick's favorite....Bread Pudding! Needless to say we were in food coma when we left. We decided to take a stroll through the park and walk off some of the dinner. It was a beautiful evening and a wonderful DATE! Thanks so much to Alex and Ryan (our fabulous neighbors) who stayed with the boys while we were out enjoying some alone time! :)

The Grove

Date Night here we come! Patrick and I are finally going to enjoy our much overdue dinner at The Grove! We have been looking forward to trying this amazing restaurant for a while now.

A million thanks to our wonderful friends who gave us a gift certificate for the boys 1st birthday! I can't believe that it is November and we are just now using it. Time flies! We are going tomorrow night and I will give a full report on our dining experience! My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

New Blog!

I have been having technical difficulties with my web.mac.com blog for a while. Each time I would enter a new post it would take FOREVER to update and therefore would discourage me from posting new things on the blog. So.....I had to "break up" with that blog and thought I would start fresh with a new one.

From now on this will be the official BURDICK BOYS BLOG! :)

Bare with me while I learn this new program! I am hoping that you will find me blogging more often about my day to day life with my two little monkeys and their wonderful Daddy! Oh and don't forget about their furry "sister"!

Here are a few recent photos that my TALENTED cousin Rebecca took of the boys!

Stay tuned for more.......
